"Lyrically, the subjects (of my songs) are the reflection of the times during which they were written so they, of course, change. I guess the other way I’e grown, if you can call it that, is that I have come to accept I am a songwriter/performer. Howe Gelb once said to me, “If you’re still doing it past the age of forty you’ll be doing it the rest of your life.” I think around the age of forty I began to accept my career and enjoy the process in a way I had not previously."
