Made the trip up to see the Unholy Trio last Saturday night, who are Morgan Geer, guitar; Lance Wille, drums; and Freakwater's Dave Gay, bass. They rocked balls. It is hard to explain how a band with no fiddles and no pedal steel can be so country, but they are. I guess it's all in the song choices and the attitude. They ruled the stage, but the floor in front of them belonged to the women, two dozen of them shaking their moneymakers. Everybody was just smiling, smiling at the pleasure of it all. What a great show.
